What is Halluks Valgus (Foot Finger Shape Disorder)?
Friday, July 28, 2017 | Healthy lifestyleThe most common problem in foot deformities after flat footing is the deformity of the big toe. It does not cause any problems except for the appearance problem in its light form. However, it leads to serious complaints such as pain and difficulty in wearing shoes in advanced forms. It may block walk and show an ugly foot structure.
This malformation of the big toe of the foot, commonly referred to as the hallux valgus deformity, it occurs for reasons such as long-time tip wear tight shoes, wearing improper shoes on his feet, genetic causes and foot structure.
Sometimes it begins in adolescence. It is usually between 25 and 40 years old and is often seen in woman. If you do not cause pain and do not prevent you from wearing shoes this deformity may remain. However, if you continue to wear tight and narrow shoes, you will often have painful swelling and increased deformity. The broadness of the front part of the foot (combed foot structure) and the flat base have the effect of increasing this deformity.
In mild deformities; It is possible to obtain painless feet by following the rules of the shoe, between the finger rollers and the protective pads. However, it is not possible to correct deformity without surgery.
Patients with advanced deformities, painfuls, difficulty in long walks, and those who are disturbed by shoe - foot deformity should be treated surgically. If there is no pain, difficulty in wearing shoes and difficulty in walking, especially in cases of mild deformity, symptomatic, we do not recommend surgery.
