What is Implant?
Monday, July 31, 2017 | Healthy lifestyleImplants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium that are placed in the jawbone to make prosthesis on single or multiple tooth deficiencies. Any individual with adequate bone texture without significant systemic disturbance may be treated.
How is the implant applied?
The patient is subjected to clinical and radiographic examinations. According to the result, the type, diameter and length of the implant and then the type of prosthesis are decided. The treatment process varies from one day to six months.
Is implant surgery difficult and painful?
Implant application is performed under local anesthesia. Once the numbing is complete, the patient no longer feels any discomfort.
The time required to administer a single implant is approximately 15 minutes. After the operation, the painkillers are usually used without problems for one to two days and with ice treatment. After surgery, sutures are taken 7-10 days later.
Who do they apply to?
In cases where the bone is inadequate, it is necessary to increase the volume of the bone by adding bone, called bone augmentation, to the patients.
Are there risks and harms?
Implants are made of titanium. Our body does not reject implants produced from titanium.
I smoke, will it be harmful?
To prevent the possibility of infection, we recommend that your patients do not smoke in the first week.
